Rest Area East

The place was just as advertised. Right on the beach, pool, plenty of space to enjoy as a large family. Dining room table provided plenty of seating along with the living room all. Best of all, very private and literally right on the beach. The house was constructed with high end materials. We would defiantly come back and stay again.

We had our entire family there with 17 people. We absolutely loved it. We’ve been coming to the Gulf Shores/Fort Morgan area for years and this was our favorite home yet. We will definitely be back!

This vacation home was amazing! My family and I loved it! The house was very spacious, and the beach was beautiful. The house had everything we needed plus more! We tried to extend our stay, but unfortunately it was already booked on our departure date. We will definitely be back and will definitely be staying for more than a week.

The home had so much that we didn’t even know we needed. The large dining table was wonderful for our family of 14. Walk way to the beach that drops off steps from the ocean was amazing. We had a few minor issues but the property manager was quick to take care of everything. We will definitely be back!

The house was beautiful, and exactly as pictured. The kitchen was well stocked, and having the extra refrigerator as well as an ice maker in the bar area is such a nice feature. For our large group, it was such a treat to be able to all sit together at the large dining table. Property managers were pleasant to deal with, and quickly addressed our minor concerns. The pool and surrounding areas are well maintained, and it was nice to have some bonus pool toys, boogie boards there as well. The beach area is not crowded at all, which is exactly what we were hoping for. Would definitely stay here again!

We rented Rest Area East with several families and we also rented the attached unit next door. It was a prime set-up for large groups. I'm not sure I'd be interested in renting only one side but it's probably fine. The house is extremely well equipped. I was a little bummed that there wasn't a gas grill but they did have a usable charcoal grill which worked fine. I noticed that everyone around there seemed to be using charcoal so maybe that's a thing. My only recommendation would be to add dish towels and dish rags. We had to buy some and just left them there. In the scheme of things not a huge issue. There are tons of beach toys there which I imagine gets added to by guests. Bring your own beach chairs. Loved the deck and pool and the ramp down to the beach was perfect. I'd stay there again.

The house was perfect for our group! It had everything we needed! Perfect location. The walk to the beach was so simple and easy. The shower outside made it easy to clean off before going in. Plenty of room. The pool was ideal for the kids and had toys. Not many people around on the beach. The beach also had a volleyball net. Will definitely book again!

We really enjoyed the house. It was large, has a good floor plan, and was in a nice location. The only thing I would change is that I wish the pool were heated, so that we could have gone swimming without being cold during out stay since it was upper 70's/low 80'sF outside, but the water was still a little too cool to stay in the pool long.

This house was wonderful - everyone had a bedroom (and bed!) who needed one, and the individual families were able to sleep near one another. The beach access was super convenient - just down the ramp from the back deck. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need for older kids and adults. Having 2 refrigerators was great, and the tables were able to seat everyone at once, which was also nice!

With the beach and the pool, you wouldn't think you'd need anything else to do, but the cards, games, and books provided were also super helpful for those family evenings in.

The house was clean and well organized, and we would definitely stay again!

Our stay was great. The house was gorgeous and had plenty of space for our large family. It was very clean and well maintained. The staff messaged me upon arrival and was quick to respond. They also messaged me throughout the trip with warnings of jellyfish and how to treat a sting. I thought that was great and very helpful. My only issue was that there were a few nails sticking up in the deck around the pool that we stepped on a few times. And the biting flies were horrible. (Not a house issue).
We soon heard from a local that the flies were bad around this time of year. Which was good to know for future trip planning. I will say it was about a 30 minute drive to get to town for places to eat or to the grocery store. Which really wasn’t a big issue seeing as how most of our time was spent on the beach and staying in. But if you’re someone that likes to go out about every night you’ll have to figure in how much time it will take to get there since some places close early. All in all we would love to stay in this house again. It was perfect for our family. Very clean, great amount of space, and perfectly homey/cozy. The two refrigerators and the ice maker was definitely a perk for me! As well as the huge kitchen table, open floor plan, and rocking chairs on the screened in porch. We can’t wait for our next beach trip at Rest Area East.

The house had plenty of space inside & out for a big family. The location was away from the hubub but a quick drive to all the public attractions,perfect for a family with kids.The beach was beautiful & the pool was a great bonus. The only thing I would add or suggest would be something that we have seen at all of the other VRBO rentals & that would be having some basics there such as coffee, sugar, etc. Several we have stayed at even had a welcome basket of snacks & drinks which was nice to have upon arrival. We were able to have groceries delivered to the house fairly quickly though, so that helped.

This is our fourth year renting this beautiful home. We love it! The home is large and comfortable and perfectly located right on the beach. The management company was great- checked in with us and were very accessible. We didn't need anything but it was clear they were available if we did. The only suggestion I have for improvement is to have someone come in and clean out broken beach supplies and clean up along the side of the house. There were tons of toys and supplies left by prior guests, but some of the stuff was broken, and with the constant (delightful!) wind, there was trash and construction debris lying along the side of the house. We cleaned some of it up, but having someone come regularly to clean the area up would be great. Regardless, we love this house and hope to be back again next year. We highly recommend this company and this house!

Loved, loved this house! Great location. Plenty of room for our large family. Pool was a huge plus. Management company responded quickly to all of our issues & fixed them promptly. We’re already planning our trip back next year!

This was our second visit to this property and it was just as enjoyable as last year. The property is clean and well maintained. It’s wonderful being so close to the water and having access to a pool. My grandchildren has a wonderful time. We would definitely come back.
